iF Magazine Interviews New Amsterdam's Zuleikha Robinson
March/21/2008 07:16 PM
"If you were ever an X-FILES fan, there is a chance
that you had a crush on Zuleikha Robinson, when she
was really the only leading lady Yves Adele Harlow on
THE LONE GUNMEN spin off series. Robinson’s next
television stint was as the conniving prostitute Gaia
on HBO’s ROME, and the actress admits more than a
fondness for offbeat characters. When iF MAGAZINE
spoke to the strikingly beautiful actress about her
series NEW AMSTERDAM, we also found out more about
how this actress has managed to have such a varied
career over the last few years." Read the Interview here.

Getting New Amsterdam Ready For Air; The Pilot ... Needed Fixing
February/29/2008 02:33 AM
From AP/The Candadian Press comes an article covering
the preparations and reshoots involved in getting New
Amsterdam's pilot episode ready for broadcast. It,
also, includes comments from Nikolaj Coster-Waldau
and executive producer David Manson.
"A then-and-now comparison reveals a promising concept that, in its first rendition, had potentially fatal flaws.
"New Amsterdam" 2.0 deftly fixes those flaws, and gets the series off to a strong start, thanks to several scenes reshot, a minor role recast, some strategic re-editing, and - underlying all the tweaks - a heightened sense on the part of the producers for what the series is about. Right now the pilot system is losing favour among budget-slashing networks. But the pilot for "New Amsterdam" served a valuable purpose: it was a good way to find the weak spots."

Baggage of immortality haunts Fox's 'New Amsterdam'
By Mike Huges
Gannett News Service
Feb. 20, 2008 03:20 PM
TV characters seem to lug lots of personal baggage.
Still, few match John Amsterdam of Fox's "New Amsterdam" series. He has four centuries of baggage.
"It's a complicated life he has," says Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who plays him.
Long and complicated. Back in 1642, he was given a spell that includes near-eternal life. As the series starts (Tuesday, March 4), he's great at being a police detective, not at being a happy person.
"He has these rich life experiences," Coster-Waldau says. "(But) he's not very good at being with other people."

E!Online's Kristin Recommends New Amsterdam Again
February/27/2008 04:47 PM
In answer to a question in the "Spoiler Chat"
section of Kristin's blog at E!Online, she
gives another enthusiastic endorsement of the
New Amsterdam and it's star, Nikolaj
Coster-Waldau:
"Erin in Paramus, New Jersey: Is that show New Amsterdam ever going to air?
New Amsterdam actually airs next week, on Mar. 4. I have seen the first two episodes—and let's just say, he might be 400 years old, but Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (who plays John Amsterdam) may need to become a Future (Second) Husband. (BTW, you might remember Nikolaj from the movie Wimbledon.) Although the premise is a tad far-fetched, Amsterdam is still a pretty enjoyable hour of television, and the second hour has a pretty shocking reveal about John's family. I recommend it!"

New Amsterdam's Alexie Gilmore To Appear In "Surfer Dude" Movie.
February/19/2008 07:41 PM
Alexie Gilmore co-stars with Matthew McConaughey in
the upcoming film "Surfer Dude".
The National Ledger reports "Alexie was a last-minute selection for the leading lady role. In fact, she reveals, she was sitting in her Brooklyn home the day after she made an audition tape for the picture, "and it was Matthew calling me directly. He said to get on a plane and get to L.A. -- and three days later, we were on the Malibu beach together with the cameras going.""
The short article goes on to state that Alexie is back in NY awaiting the premiere of New Amsterdam.

New Amsterdam - An Early Look By TV Squad
February/11/2008 01:34 PM
Paul Goebel of TV Squad provides a brief review of the first two
episodes of New Amsterdam. While his
commentary on the pilot is decidedly mixed, he
seems to think the second episode is much better
and describes the series as a cross between
Forever Knight and Law & Order.

E!Online's Kristin Lists New Amsterdam among "Most Watchable" Series
December/28/2007 03:05 AM
E!Online's Kristin has picks for the 21 most
watchable new and returning series slated to come out
this winter and early spring. New Amsterdam is listed
among them and she has this to say about the show:
"New Amsterdam (Fox, Feb. 22): Stop me if you've heard this before: The hero is a tall, dark and handsome immortal with a unique skill set that he uses to protect and defend the helpless and the innocent. While living in the shadows, he yearns for a genuine emotional connection, but true love and happiness remain a glimmering dream in the distance...It's not the most original concept in TV history, but you know what, maybe that's okay. Star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is superhot, and the stories seem fun. The bad news? This show offers up a few wackadoodle scenarios that might make you giggle and/or remind you of stuff you just saw on Moonlight. Anyway, give it a shot and report back with your findings. This one could really go either way..."

New Amsterdam's Alexie Gilmore To Appear In Upcoming Comedy
December/21/2007 10:36 PM
Buddy TV Reports:
"Alexie Gilmore, star of the forthcoming FOX drama series New Amsterdam, will be appearing in the new romantic comedy, Definitely, Maybe, next year. The film revolves around a political consultant who tries his best to explain his impending divorce and past relationships to his 10-year-old daughter.
Aside from Gilmore, who plays Olivia in the movie, the cast of Definitely, Maybe also includes Ryan Reynolds as Will Hayes, Elizabeth Banks (Scrubs) as Emily, Rachel Weisz as Summer Hartley, Abigail Breslin as Maya, Kevin Kline as Hampton Roth, Derek Luke as Russell McCormack and Isla Fisher as April."
The movie is scheduled to open on February 14th, 2008 - just a week before the premiere of "New Amsterdam". Here's hoping positive buzz about Alexie leads to increased awareness of the series.
