New Amsterdam garnered 7.3 million viewers (#4), a 2.3/6 among adults 18-49 (#4) and a Household rating of 4.8 on March 17th according to fast affiliate ratings (Live plus Same Day). The episode gained 1.6+ million viewers compared to the 8:00PM ET lead in of Canterbury’s Law. Although overall figures have dropped, I think it's worth noting that New Amsterdam has grown it's audience coming out of the Canterbury's Law slot two weeks in a row. Perhaps New Amsterdam would be better served if it were paired up with a stronger lead in.

Fox has released the official description for episode 4 of New Amsterdam, titled "Honor".

"The brutal rape and murder of a nun and similar attack on a photographer’s assistant who escapes death leads Amsterdam (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) to remember similar crimes he witnessed in the 1800s when he was a coachman for a wealthy landowner. Meanwhile, Amsterdam and Sara get better acquainted on the “Honor” episode of NEW AMSTERDAM airing Monday, March 17 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (NAM-104) (TV-14 D, L, S, V)"
